Which page helps
Hydrogen or biofuel — which fits?
Hydrogen, where vehicles or processes need H₂: buses, fleets, the apron, industry. We source several grades — RFNBO, ISO, certified, grey — and deliver by trailer. We do not produce; we supply from more than 15 plants.
Biofuels, where the engine or the installation is already there. Bio-LNG and e-methane use the gas logistics, CNG and HVO often the existing tank. Switching is then a change of fuel, not a vehicle project.
How does the fuel get to the site?
The first step is often a trailer plus a pressure-transfer panel. The panel connects the trailer to a tank or buffer without a dispenser having to be in place: little construction, quickly there, suitable for bridging a gap or for testing. As demand grows, or once the depot is settled, a mobile refueller — a fuelling point on wheels — a filling station at the depot or a public dispenser follows.
Which stage will carry you is decided by volume, pressure and how permanent the location is — not by the order in a brochure. Planning and construction run alongside the delivery, not as a second project.
What does RFNBO mean — and when is it needed?
RFNBO stands for Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin: hydrogen or e-fuel made from renewable electricity, documented under RED III. Anyone who has to meet a quota, a tender or funding conditions needs exactly this proof. Part of it is the mass balance: the accounting record of the certified volume, even where the substance is physically mixed with other hydrogen.
Not every application calls for RFNBO. We also supply grey or otherwise certified hydrogen where the process allows it. The trading itself is certified to ISCC EU, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Converting a long-haul fleet — on your own or with a vehicle partner?
On your own, where the vehicle and the tank already fit and only the fuel or the infrastructure is missing. With a vehicle partner, where range, payload and fuelling have to be thought through together — in long-haul transport the fuel alone rarely decides it.
With Popp Fahrzeugbau we cost out the application: hydrogen where fuelling times and payload count, electric where the grid allows it, Bio-LNG where the fleet already runs on LNG. FPS.Energy supplies the energy and the infrastructure, Popp the vehicle and the service. One point of contact for the changeover, not three separate projects.
How quickly does delivery arrive — and how does an enquiry start?
A short enquiry is enough to begin. Volume, grade and timeframe help us place it, but they are not required.
Trailer supply can start without permanent construction; that is usually the fastest route to a site. A stationary filling station needs planning. We deliver from Berlin and Vienna, within Germany and in Central and Eastern Europe — the source and the delivery point need not be in the same country.
